Thrapston FC
Venturas
Thrapston FC’s Men’s section is made up of three senior squads – the First Team, Reserves and our newly formed Development side. Each team offers a pathway for local players to enjoy competitive football while staying true to the spirit of the club.
We compete in the Northants Combination League, with home fixtures held on Saturday afternoons at Castle Playing Fields, Chancery Lane, Thrapston. This is where generations of players have represented their community with pride.

OUR HISTORY
Thrapston Venturas FC, initially established in 1960 as Thrapston Football Club, has a rich history in local football.
The Venturas, founded by Nigel Webster, achieved significant success in the 1970s, including four league and cup doubles during a golden era. Initially known as Thrapston Ventura, they joined the Kettering Amateur League, winning multiple championships.
In 1978, they moved to the United Counties League, eventually changing their name to Thrapston Town in 1996.
In 2017, the club revived the Venturas identity, aiming to reconnect with its roots and promote local football under a renewed vision: “Keeping it Local”.
In 2025, eight years into this renewed chapter, the Venturas brand continues to grow from strength to strength, embracing the club’s ethos:
“Local people, playing local football with their mates.”
